  • Workshop on “Applications of computational techniques in drug design & discovery” from 18th Oct to 23rd Oct 2021 -

GNCP, Nagpur has organized a one week workshop entitled Applications of computational techniques in drug design & discovery from 18th Oct to 23rd Oct 2021. The seminar was attended by faculty members and M. Pharm students from different institutes. Mr. Sapan Shah, Assistant professor, J L Chaturvedi college of Pharmacy was the Resource Person and Trainer for the workshop. During this workshop, Delegates had learned the basics of molecular docking, protein, ligands and some relevant software. In silico molecular docking was studied using Vina and Chimera Software’s, in which selection of protein, ligand and their preparation for docking were performed and the binding energies were calculated. Virtual screening and Visualization techniques were studied and performed using different software with add on knowledge on ADMET properties. Hands-on training was provided to all delegates by the assessment of the delegates. After completing this program students can undertake a CADD project and prepare the molecules in the laboratory designed by them. Dr. Nidhi Sapkal, Dr. Sumit Arora and Dr. Subhash Yende were the coordinator for the workshop.

  • National Level webinar on Career Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance, Medical Coding, Clinical Research and other Pharmaceutical Fields on 6th March, 2021 -

GNCP, Nagpur in collaboration with RACE (Royal Academy of Career Excellence), Mumbai has Organized National Level webinar on Career Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance, Medical Coding, Clinical Research and other Pharmaceutical Fields after B.Pharm&M.Pharm on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Mr. Varun Dhakne, Mr. Anup Wagh and MeherTundulwar were the Resource Person for the webinar and around 155 participants from various colleges have attended the webinar with great enthusiasm. Dr. A.M Ittadwar and Dr. Sumit Arora were the Convener and Coordinator of the webinar.

  • Short Term Training Program (STTP) on ‘To train the trainers for entrepreneurship development in the field of pharmaceutics’from 23rd November to 19th December 2020

- All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) sponsored three online short-term training programs of one week each on theme ‘To train thetrainers for entrepreneurship development in the field of pharmaceutics’. This STTP was designed to train and develop professionals and trainermotivators among the teachers so that they can guide and motivate young individuals to takeup entrepreneurship as a carrier. The program was organized in 3 phases as follows, Phase I from 23 rd November to 28 th November 2020; Phase II from 7 December to 12 December 2020 and Phase III from14 December to 19 December 2020.In this training program eminent personalities from industries and academia were theresource persons. Mr. ShyamKhante, Mr. H. R. Waghmare, Mr. Bhimrao Rangari, Ms.Swaima Ahmad, Mr. UjwalJajoo, Mr. Brij Sarda, Dr. Nilesh Ugemuge, Dr. SumantTekade,Mr. Swapnil Gawande, Mr. Raj Agrawal, Mr. Abhijeet Deshmukh, Mr. Sumeet Jaiswal, Mr.DilipLohiya addressed and motivated the budding entrepreneurs. In this, 70 participantscompleted the training in phase I, 44 in phase II and 49 in phase III. Dr. MitaliM. Bodhankarchairperson, ED cell coordinated the event.

  • National Conference on “Accustoming Pharmaceutical professionals with upcoming future Challenges from 29th to 31st May 2020 -

Three DaysNational Online Conference on Accustoming Pharmaceutical professionals with upcoming future challenges was organized. Dr. A.M. Ittadwar, Principal GNCP, Nagpur was convener of programme. Mr. T.M. Rasala, Asst professor, GNCP was coordinator along with Mr. Debarshi Kar Mahapatra, DBCOP, Nagpur. Around 1260 registered delegates wereattended this conference in online mode using zoom platform and you tube live streaming.

  • Workshop on communication skills, personality development & interview skills on 31th Dec, 2018 -

One day workshop on communication skills, personality development and interview skills were conducted by Entrepreneurship development cell of GNCP on 31th Dec, 2018. A well-known orator Ms. Swaima Ahmad and Mr. Rajendra Diwe, Editor, The Hitavada, Nagpur were the session speakers. The students of GNCP well received the sessions in workshop and Mr. S. R. Manapure, Dr. M.M. Bodhankar along with team of ED cell took efforts for the event.

  • National workshop on 'Regulatory Affairs as career Option' on 6th March 2019 -

Industry Institute partnership cell, under Graduate Employment Training programme organized One day National workshop on “Regulatory Affairs as career in association with Zim Laboratories Ltd. Kalmeshwar on 6th March 2019. Mr. Pravin Tople General Manager, Regulatory Affairs, Zim Laboratories Ltd., Kalmeshwar, Nagpur, Mr. Pankaj Pachghare, Assistant Manager, Regulatory Affairs Division, Zim Laboratories Ltd., Mrs. Monica Dhawad, Drug Inspector, FDA, Nagpur were the expert speakers for the workshop. Dr. V.A. Kilor, Dr. N.P Sapkal. Dr. G.K. Lohiya, Mr. K.B. Bhelkar, Mr. D.P. Dharkar, Mrs. S.A. Ubgade wholeheartedly worked for the successful conduction of the workshop along with student volunteers.

  • National Conference on Role of Excipients in Drug Product Design on 3rd Feb, 2018

GNCP has organized one day National Conference on “Role of Excipients in Drug Product Design” on 3rd Feb, 2018 in S. Paramjeet Kaur Kalsi Auditorium. The occasion was graced by chief guest S. Gurbux Singh Lamba, President, The Sikh Education Society and Guest of Honour S. Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, CEO and General Secretary, The Sikh Education Society. The keynote opening was given by Dr. Shashank Lulay, Director, Experts' Club Consultants, Nagpur. In second session Dr. Mrs. Archana Moon, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, RTM Nagpur University delivered a lecture on 'Targeted drug delivery in multidrug resistant microbial infection'. The third session was conducted by Mr. Mangesh Itankar, Assistant Manager, Regulatory Affairs, Dr. Reddy's Research Laboratories, Hyderabad on 'Development and implementation of regulatory strategies to support filing and expedite the approvals for the new products, line extensions, major variations and life cycle management'. After plenary sessions, poster presentation was carried out and Best posters were awarded in the valedictory function. The event was coordinated by Dr. (Mrs.) S. R. Walde and Dr. S. P. Padmane and around 300 delegates from academia attended the same.

  • Workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Design” on 3rd and 4th March, 2018

GNCP, Nagpur organized Two days training workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Design” for B. Pharm and M. Pharm students on 3rd and 4th March, 2018. The program was inaugurated by Dr. A. M. Ittadwar, Principal. Dr. Anwar Shaikh, Professor, Allana College of Pharmacy, Pune was the resource person. In this training workshop, basics of 2D and 3D QSAR, Pharmacophore mapping, Virtual screening, Molecular modeling and Docking were discussed. Hands on training was also given using the Schrodinger software tools for using computers in designing new drugs. The program was attended by about 50 postgraduate students and faculty members from the colleges of the region. The program was very well received and it was one of its own kind to help students in handling actual software related to drug designing. The program was conducted in collaboration with Dr. AJ Asnani and Dr. PB Khedekar of Priyadarshini JLC College of Pharmacy and UDPS, RTM Nagpur University respectively. The program was coordinated by Dr. NP Sapkal along with Mr. DP Dharkar, Mr. KB Bhelkar, Mrs. SA Ubgade and Dr. VA Kilor.

  • Workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Development” on 24th and 25th Feb. 2018

GNCP, Nagpur organised Two Day's Training workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Development” in association with Me2We Foundation on 24th and 25th Feb.2018. Aim of the workshop was to impart hands on training to the Post graduate students of pharmacy regarding use of computers in drug development process. Students and faculty were introduced with the various softwares like Gastroplus, Winnonline, Simcyp and their use as an integral part of preclinical and clinical drug development process. Dr. Rama Sivasubramanian, Clinical Development Director, Clinical Development & Analytics Novartis Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad, Mr. Rajendra Khade, Principal Scientist, Novartis Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad, Mr. Punit Girdhar, Associate Narrative Writer, Regulatory Writing & Submission team, Novartis Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad were the resource persons for the workshop. The workshop was attended by 125 Pharmacy postgraduate students, teachers and research scholars. Dr. A.M.   • Interdisciplinary National seminar on “Modified drug release innovations in solubility and bioavailability enhancement: option and opportunities on 24th September 2016.

GNCP organized one day interdisciplinary national seminar on 24th September 2016 on the “Modified drug release innovations in solubility and bioavailability enhancement: Options and opportunities” The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Sarvesh Jain (Malvia), Managing Director, Onisomes Laboratory, Chandigarh (Punjab), Mr. Amit Antarkar, R&D (Site Head) Watson Pharma Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai and Dr. A.M. Ittadwar Principal, GNCP, Nagpur. The resource person Dr. Sarvesh Jain explained about the current market and job opportunities in pharma sector. Mr. Amit Antarkar explained the R&D work going on in pharma industries, Dr. Sunil Jaiswal, Associate Manager, Sun Pharma emphasized on innovations in solubility and bioavailability enhancements and also explained the different options and opportunities in solubility and bioavailabilty enhancement in modified drug release. Around 200 students of UG and PG from various colleges were participated. The programe was co-ordinate by Dr. V. V. Kale, Dr. S.K. Tilloo, Dr. S. R. Walde and Teaching and Non-teaching staff. The Valedictory Function was chaired by Dr. Sunil Jaiswal, Associate Manager, Sun Pharma Varodara (Gujrat), Dr. Biyani, Associate Prof, SKB College of Pharmacy, Kamptee and Mr. N. G. Dumore, DBCOP, Nagpur. Dr. Suhas Padmane Proposed the Vote of thanks.

  • National level conference on Innovations in Formulations, Drugs & their Administration (iFDA)-2016

A national level conference was organized at Gurunanak College of Pharmacy on the theme “Innovations in  Formulations, Drugs & their Administration (iFDA-2016)” on 19 th & 20 th February, 2016. The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Sh. Anwar S. Daud, Managing  Director, Zim Laboratories Ltd. Sh. Daud, in his keynote address discussed the recent innovations that pharma     industry has witnessed. S. Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, Joint secretary of The Sikh Education Society, presided over the program. On first day, Mr. G. Sundar delivered talks on regulatory aspects of Quality based design. He also presented a case study on QbD of MR tablets. Dr. Shriniwas Savale spoke about the challenges and opportunities in Bioequivalence studies. On day one, various session speakers also presented their research work to the delegates.
On the second day, Dr. Sanjay Mandhane, General Manager, Sun Pharma discussed various nano-therapeutics in overcoming different limitations of suboptimal therapeutics by enhancing efficacy, imparting higher selectivity, reducing toxicity, and prolonging clearance time. Dr. Mrudula Bele, a renowned columnist and associate professor at MPV College, Nashik, highlighted various unique features of Indian Patent Act. Dr. Jayant Khandare, professor at MIT College, Pune and entrepreneur, motivated the young innovators and urged them to pursue novel research ideas. Dr. Shriniwas Savale in another lecture discussed a relatively recent class of medicines, “Biosimillars”.
A Poster competition was also organized on the second day. Ms. Neeta Brahme was the winner in the competition. S. Ravleen Singh Khurana, Managing Director, Nikita Pharmaceutical Specialities Pvt. Ltd. was the chief guest of valedictory program. Dr. A. M. Ittadwar, Principal of college and Convenor of the conference gave the concluding remarks and Dr. S. K. Tilloo, Joint Secretary of the conference proposed vote of thanks.

  • Pre-Conference Work-Shop of 2nd International Congress of Society for Ethno-pharmacology (SFEC - 2015)

The second International Congress (SFEC - 2015) of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (SFE-India) was organized by Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, India during February 20-22, 2015 with the theme “Validation of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine – Global Perspectives”.
Before the Congress, a series of Preconference Workshops on Natural Product Research were organized. The first section was carried out at Gurunanak College of Pharmacy, Nagpur on the theme “Scope for Research in Natural Products, Funding Opportunities and Publication”.
Dr. M. Heinrich, Editor, Journal of Pharmacy & Pharmacology, Dr. A. Jager, Associate Editor, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Denmark, Dr. T K. Mukherjee, Ex- Editor, Indian J. Traditional Knowledge, CSIR-NISCAIR, India delivered their lectures on how to write good quality papers and made aware about the funding opportunities in Natural Product Research.
The workshop took place in Sardarni Paramjeet Kaur Kalsi Auditorium. Principal, Staff and students took efforts to make program a grand success.
